Glens Group Golf Courses

Glen Dornoch

Master architect Clyde Johnston's creation, Glen Dornoch, welcomed its first players in September of 1996. The 270-acre site is blessed with a dense stand of oaks, pines, and magnolias.

Coastal golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area are usually rather flat but this site has several natural 35-foot elevation changes, which slope down to South Carolina's most beautiful stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway.

With respect for the land, the golf course was built one hole at a time. At Myrtle Beach's Glen Dornoch, each hole flows with the natural terrain of lakes, live oaks, and spectacular marsh and river views.

If you’ve ever dreamed of playing one of the world’s truly great courses.... that dream can now be a reality.

Heather Glen

Discover for yourself why Golf Digest chose Heather Glen as l987's #1 new public course, and names it again and again as among the country's best. The course's 27 holes are even lovelier in maturity, its setting is truly spectacular, and the 19th Century clubhouse echoes its Scottish tradition.

Inspired by the earlier traditions of golf, architects Willard Byrd and Clyde Johnston and a small group of ardent lovers of the game have molded this historic site into a golf course masterpiece just north of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The natural beauty of changing elevations, gigantic 100 year old pines, colorful dogwoods, glistening hollies, graceful live oaks, winding streams and brooks (burns) and the lovely Firth of Clyde...all crowned with a 19th Century British-styled clubhouse, have created a showcase evoking the beauty of Scottish golf courses.

Once played, you will remember the distinctive characteristics of each hole, each green, the unusual bunkers (especially the Devils Mistress!), heather-laced dunes...a course dedicated to the ardent players who appreciate the tradition and beauty of golf.

We hope you will enjoy playing the course and the clubhouse fellowship as much as we have enjoyed their creation.

Shaftesbury Glen

At Shaftesbury Glen, architect Clyde Johnston captures the very essence of golf. Inspired by Winged Foot and Augusta National, he has delicately crafted a flowing dignified, traditional layout of wide fairways and elevated Bent greens, where you are immersed in every facet of the game. Here is golf as it was meant to be.

Clyde Johnston brings the same traditional look to his 18-hole championship course - elevated greens, picture-perfect traps, wide-flowing fairways, demanding doglegs, tantalizing par 3's and long par 5's. From the stone-gated entrance to the Olde English clubhouse, it all evokes the spirit of Shaftesbury, England - the project's namesake...and it is just ten minutes from the heart of Restaurant Row, via the new Conway Bypass.

Shaftesbury Glen is destined to top your must-play list.

Possum Trot

Possum Trot Golf Club is located in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and features 18 well-kept fairways and manicured greens. We're known as "The Friendly Course".
